In 1959 Dr. Egon Balzar and his wife took over the management of the house with the aim to restore the sanatorium but his sudden death put these plans to rest. As a result, the house was reconfigured as a category A, 90 bed hotel.
Mrs. Balzar’s nephew, Dr. Stephan Beck, took over the Parkhotel at the beginning of the 90s to accomplish his aunt’s vision for a sanatorium. With Dr. Martin Winkler, he created the ‘Kurzentrum Parkhotel Igls’ making health once again the central focus.
